CapeClarke has been exclusively retained by FMG to source an in-house Commercial Lawyer.
Who is FMG?
FMG is the UK’s leading provider of bespoke end-to-end specialist vehicle recovery and incident management services. Founded in 1986, FMG has over 400 staff and ambitious plans to grow by 50% in the next two years.
Clients include Leasing Providers, Fleet Insurers, Motor Insurers, Blue Chips, Public Sector Organisations and Police Forces nationwide.
FMG is based in Huddersfield with easy access for people commuting from elsewhere in Yorkshire or from the North West. They are shortly moving into new office space, which is in line with the organisation’s growth plans.
The company proudly earned a place in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to work for list, reflecting its outstanding office culture and staff retention.
FMG is part of the Redde plc group (£527m turnover and almost 2,300 employees), who operate a number of market-leading accident and fleet management support companies.
As in-house Legal Counsel, you will take the lead on a range of commercial matters, including drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial agreements, distribution agreements, supplier contracts, tenders, engagement letters, NDAs and licences.
The role will be positioned at the very heart of the business and the legal function is integral to the whole operation. The business and the Board will look to Legal Counsel to provide sound legal and risk management advice to various departments in the organisation. You will report into the Finance Director, Head of Group Legal and the Board to make executive decisions on the legal impact of commercial matters or the commercial implications of legal advice.
Is this role for me?
FMG is looking for a Commercial Contracts solicitor of between 2 and 6 years PQE (although applicants outside of that bracket who can demonstrate the required skills will be considered).
You will have experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, knowledge of commercial transactions and the ability to look beyond the documentation and consider the wider business aspects involved. You should be customer focused with good negotiation and communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with internal clients and external agencies.
You will need to be able to work autonomously (and also as part of a close-knit team) and with pragmatism in an environment where legal and commercial issues are entwined.
On offer is a very competitive salary and benefits package dependent on experience. Flexible working (including some home working) is possible. There will be free car parking.
CapeClarke is the exclusively retained consultancy for FMG. For a confidential discussion about this opportunity, please contact Terry Cape on 07979 494938 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. All direct or third party CVs or enquiries will be directed to CapeClarke.
Please note that CapeClarke advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We will aim to respond to your enquiry as soon as possible but CapeClarke does receive a high number of applications and if we have not contacted you within 5 days, your application has not met the requirements of our client.Apply
