How quickly it comes around – the time which trainee solicitors anticipate and dread in equal measure. The time when they fight it out for their desired qualification role. Unfortunately, even in a legal market which has recovered significantly in recent years, not all law firms can guarantee their trainee solicitors a role upon qualification, although this is improving year-on-year. We usually produce a series of blogs every year to offer advice to trainee solicitors. This year, we have gone one better and have secured the first NQ Careers Evenings in association with the Leeds Junior Lawyers Division and these will take place on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 20 February. Aimed at trainee solicitors qualifying into private practice law firms in September 2014, the seminars will provide a discipline-by-discipline guide as to market conditions and how they will affect you this year, together with expert opinion and advice from two prominent figures in the Leeds legal market.
Following these seminars, we will produce our annual series of blogs setting out in black-and-white our advice to trainee solicitors looking at their options this year. There will also be a blog dealing with responses to some questions frequently asked by trainee solicitors year after year.
